Samsung has just introduced the ultra-compact ST80 digital camera, complete with Wi-Fi and DNLA connectivity. More and more pocket-sized digital cameras are shipping with built-in Wi-Fi these days, which becomes especially useful for uploading to Facebook and Flickr when on vacation (so long as you can find a McDonald’s with free Wi-Fi). The 14.2-megapixel shooter also records 720p HD video at 30fps in H.264 format. Users can make use of the “Smart Auto” feature in both photo and video mode, which lets the camera decide the settings based on the environment. Other notes of interest are the 3-inch WQVGA touchscreen (no buttons on the back at all), 3x optical zoom, and the “Smart Crop” tool that lets photographers edit on the fly. The Samsung ST80 will be available in September with the retail price of $249.99.
